The two most common types of coffee are Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora, also known as Coffea robusta.[1] Coffea arabica is considered superior in flavor to Coffea canephora, but Coffea arabica grows in more restrictive climate zones than does Coffea canephora. Coffea canephora is resistant to the plant disease called "coffee rust."[2]
Coffee contains caffeine, which is a stimulant and which promotes wakefulness and attentiveness.
Roasted coffee contains important antioxidants.
Coffee drinkers have a lower incidence of suicide than non-coffee drinkers.
Coffee sometimes offers relief to ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) sufferers, since coffee has stimulant properties that seem to help.
